CSAH 30 – Diffley Road Reconstruction

The Diffley Road redesign is aimed at improving pedestrian safety after a tragic accident on the existing road, where two schools are inundated with traffic. The reconstruction of the road includes decreasing Diffley Road from four lanes down to two and adding two roundabouts in order to slow traffic near the schools. New access roads into the schools were also constructed for bus use exclusively, in order to ease congestion.

In addition to the new roundabouts, pedestrian-activated flashers and new crosswalks have been installed for further emphasis on driver awareness and pedestrian safety. These new safety improvements will allow a greater number of students to walk and bike to school safely.
