Our History

In 1984, determined to create a better life, Kathy Meyer and her husband LeRoy started Meyer Contracting Inc. The company specialized in the installation of water and sewer mains. As the company grew, Meyer quickly expanded its scope to include excavation, grading, drainage and road construction and has also added concrete structures and noise walls.

In 2011, Verlyn Schoep became President and Chief Operating Officer. Verlyn is well respected in the industry with over 40 years of Highway Heavy Construction experience. Prior to arriving at Meyer Contracting, he spent 17 years working his way up from Project Manager/Estimator, Field Operations Manager/Safety Officer, Vice President of Operations to President/CEO.

In 2013, Paul Meyer assumed the role of CEO. Paul brings over 25 years of business, construction and engineering to the Meyer Team. His resume consists of leading several multi-million-dollar businesses as well as being a strong entrepreneur with technical and managerial problem-solving skills.

Paul has worked with Meyer Contracting since he was 12 years old. After graduating High School, Paul attended the University of Minnesota earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering. After graduation, he received his Professional Engineering license. Paul served as Vice President of Meyer Contracting from 2002 to 2010.

In 2012, Mark Conte joined the Meyer Team leading Field Operations and in 2015 was promoted to Vice President. Mark brings over 25 years of industry experience along with the organizational knowledge to advance our field operations to the next level. Prior to working for Meyer Contracting, Mark spent 18 years as an Executive Manager of Field Operations.
