Meyer was trusted to deliver essential components of the City of Moorhead’s upgraded sanitary lift station. Our work included the installation of a large-diameter force main pipe, complete site grading and shaping, and the successful sinking of a massive structural caisson — the core of the lift station system.
Our concrete crews took the lead on the caisson installation, supported by tightly integrated work from our earthwork and utility teams. Together, we managed staging, sequencing, and structural requirements with exacting precision to help deliver a reliable, high-capacity lift station that supports the city’s long-term wastewater infrastructure needs.
The most formidable task of the project was the controlled sinking of a 1-million-pound caisson — a complex process requiring exact alignment, continuous monitoring, and expert coordination across trades. Any deviation would have risked system performance and long-term stability.
Our crews executed this feat accurately, using refined techniques and constant communication between field leadership, equipment operators, and concrete specialists. Working in an urban environment with limited space and high public visibility added further complexity. The successful execution of this critical component highlights Meyer’s strength in collaboration, innovation, and delivering under pressure.
