Meyer Contracting completed the replacement of the water main on Hennepin Avenue in Minneapolis, MN. The project required removal of existing water main and attachments and installation of the new water main system including manholes and catch basin. The final leg of the project included repaving the street at the location of the work and ensuring all facets of the project were complete.
This project posed challenges due to the location in the heart of downtown Minneapolis, where traffic is heavy and not much extra space is available. The traffic control measures were key to success of the project as well as working around existing utilities and extra not in use under the street.
