Rooted in Respect.
Driven to Build.

Meyer was founded in 1984 by a Native American entrepreneur with a few excavators, a strong work ethic, and a deep respect for the land. From the beginning, we’ve done more than move earth — we’ve earned trust by showing up with integrity and humility.

Through every chapter, one thing has never changed: we invest in people. In our employees, our clients, and the communities we serve. That’s how we’ve grown a business — and a team — built to last.

How We Got Here

From a one-person shop to a 250-person, employee-owned team — Meyer’s story proves that when you lead with heart, anything is possible.

Born of Grit. Built with Purpose.

Driven by values and defined by action.

Founded in 1984 by Kathy and LeRoy Meyer, we started with a few machines, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to doing things right. Our Tribal partnerships run deep, rooted in trust, respect, and decades of collaboration.

A New Era of Growth

New leadership. Same drive.

In 2008, Meyer passed to a new generation of leadership and began expanding into full-scope civil construction. We took on larger, more complex work — growing our team, services, and reputation.

From Underdog to Industry Leader

Hardwired for more.

We’re proud to be one of the few heavy civil contractors to graduate from the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) program. We made that leap by solving problems others couldn’t and showing up for our clients again and again.

100% Employee-Owned. 100% All-In.

Pride and power in our work.

In 2024, we sold the company to our people, because they’ve always been the ones who built it. Implementing an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) wasn’t a change in direction. It was a more profound commitment to how we already work as a team.

Building What’s Next

Bigger challenges. Bolder solutions.

We’ve always believed in doing more than the job requires. Today, that means embracing new markets, investing in talent, and leading with innovation and heart. Our focus stays the same: doing work that lasts.
